A different night
by
Xiao De
Last night was quite different from the begging. First, I was supposed to attend a birthday party at Kushion, a famous nightclub in Glasgow. I had never been there so my friend and I just went there normally as we would to any other club in the city. Apparently, the club is posher than I was told and my friend wasn't wearing accordingly. So we walked around the city in search of another good club, when we saw Frankenstein 1818, a club in the city center. At first I wasn't too sure if I wanted to get in as I had never heard of it and the entrance was £5. One Bacardi & Coke and three songs later, I had no doubts. People weren't too friendly (nor too attractive) but the music was astonishingly amazing. It ranged from classics like Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay to remixes of Hot by Inna or Riverside by Sidney Samson. Drinks were very cheap for a Saturday night, around £3 each, but the service a little bit too slow.
So if you ever get the chance, don't doubt to go to this different nightclub, especially if you go with a big group of friends and you're lucky enough to get a table.

Oddysey to Glasvegas…
by
Xiao De
Well… As many of you may already know, the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano has caused much trouble to air traffic in Europe. Given my past luck with flying, I was obviously affected. I was supposed to go back to Glasgow from my vacation in Spain on Friday, and here I am still. Tomorrow I am departing to Paris by car, then the Eurostar will take me to London under the English Channel, and finally, I'll have to take a bus to Glasgow, Scotland (in Northern Britain). This will be a 2 days long trip, but the urgency to get to Scotland is due to the fact that I have to pass some exams for college.

How fashionable is Europe?
by
Xiao De
I've been asked by Americans many times whether if Europe is as fashionable as it is usually seen by the rest of the world. The answer is without a doubt: no. Out our continent's fashion capitals, people still have a lot to learn about how to dress, and most importantly, how not to never, ever dress! Scotland is probably the least fashionable country in Europe. People go to Primark in masses and actually consider it to be stylish. In Glasgow, one may enter a club wearing trainers without a problem. Seeing someone wearing a nice, elegant dress is a once-in-a-month event, if you live in the city center.
Now it is true, that going to cities like Paris, Milan or Barcelona may make you think that Europeans are devoted to style, skinniness and luxury, but this is just a small part of the continent. Other peoples, such as the Brazilians, are known to be very fashionable, with any kind of clothes, from cheap swimsuits to expensive handbags. They have many emerging, interesting designers like the much-beloved-by-the-Japanese Alexandre Herchcovitch.
The world is globalizing, and so is the fashion industry.
